Pakistani dies in US prison

GUJRANWALA, Sept 17: A Pakistani detained in the US by the FBI died in prison under mysterious circumstances, his relatives alleged here on Saturday. The body of Tanvir Sadiq, residing in the US since long, is being brought to Pakistan by his heirs within the next 24 hours. He will be laid to rest in his native graveyard in Kotli Sahian village, Ghakkhar town.

His heirs alleged that the US government was victimizing Pakistanis on one or the other pretext after the 9/11 incident.

INTERIM BAIL: The local anti-terrorism court No 2 and sessions court accepted interim bail of a defeated union council nazim aspirant from Khiali Shahpur town in two cases of firing and tearing ballot papers.

The incident had occurred at a polling station on Aug 18 during the first phase of local election.

The court directed the accused, Asim Anees, to produce surety bonds worth Rs50,000 in each case. — Correspondent
