70 athletes tested free for Covid-19, Rotary’s Dr. Farhan donates 1000 face masks to KSF

KARACHI: Karachi Sports Foundation and Al-Mustafa Welfare Society jointly conducted free Covid-19 tersts for athletes and sportsperson here on Thursday. Rotary’s District Governor Dr Farhan Essa, Waseem Hashmi, Asif Azeem and Ahmed Raza Tayyab along with the athletes are seen on the occasion.

KARACHI: Rotary District Governor Dr. Farhan Essa announced on Thursday to donate 1000 face masks to Karachi Sports Foundation (KSF) for the athletes for their safety from the Covid-19 pandemic .

Speaking on the occasion of free corona tests conducted jointly by KSF, Al-Mustafa Welfare Society and Syed Foundation for athletes and sports-persons Dr. Farhan said that Covid-19 lockdown has also affected players, organizers and ground staffers severely as all the sporting activities have come to a standstill during the last four months.

Over 70 players, officials and ground staff were tested for Covid-19 in the free camp on Thursday.

Dr Farhan lauded KSF and said they have set a new example of fine service to the people associated with sports during the critical situation of corona virus pandemic which is commendable. “KSF has emerged as a role model organisation for others who should participate whole-heartedly to help people in this crisis situation,” said Dr Farhan.

KSF Chairman Asif Azeem, Waseem Hashmi President of Syed Foundation, Ahmad Raza Tayyab Secretary Finance of Al-Mustafa Welfare Society, Ahmad Ali Rajput Secretary General SOA, Murad Hussain Muhammad Nasir and others were also present on the occasion.

Dr. Farhan, on behalf of Rotary International, announced to provide 1000 face masks to Karachi Sports Foundation for athletes and ground staff. He also offered free of charge coronavirus test facility at Dr. Essa Laboratories for sports persons.

Chairman KSF Asif Azeem said that it is an honor for us to get supported by a major organization like Rotary International which is a world renowned welfare organization in the field of social services. “Steps are being taken to provide welfare and health related facilities to the deserving athletes and their families,” he said.
