ISLAMABAD, Sept 17: The Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) and the Pakistan Canada Business Forum (PCBF) on Friday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to enhance liaison and cooperation between the two organizations in the field of mutual trade, investment and technology.
ICCI President Tariq Sadiq and PCBF Pakistan chapter head Rahmatullah Javed inked the MoU on behalf of their respective organization. Speaking on the occasion, the ICCI president said that it was a step in right direction and the PCBF should sign such agreements with other trade organizations.
He said that Pakistan had enormous opportunities for foreign investors. “We should join hands to promote the transfer of technology in the larger interest of our people,” he said.
Rahmatullah Javed said that the PCBF would sign such agreements with other trade organizations to promote trade relations on priority bases. He pointed out that many potential sectors, including information technology, tourism, telecom, banking, insurance, light engineering and food processing, had enormous opportunities for joint ventures and investment.
He stated that the forum had sole purpose to promote trade relations and technology. He informed the participants that the PCBF was formed during an international conference on Canada’s role in the sustainable development of Asian and African countries held in Toronto.
