TOBA TEK SINGH: Kamalia Saddar police registered on Saturday a case against an alleged practitioner of ‘black magic’ and arrested him.

As per the first information report, Sub Inspector Muhammad Saleem, in charge of Jakhar police post, stated that on public complainants he raided the house of the suspect, Ameer Muhammad, at Chak 725-GB.

The SI said he found the suspect reciting the verses of the Holy Quran in reverse order, claiming that he could heal patients with ‘black magic’.

He said as the suspect’s act caused agony among the village residents and there was an apprehension that it could become a law and order issue, he arrested him.

A case under under section 16 of the Punjab Maintenance of Public Order Ordinance 1960 was registered against the suspect on the complaint of the SI.

Later, the suspect was produced before a judicial magistrate and on his order he was shifted to district jail amid strict security.
