Architecture conference from 30th

KARACHI, Sept 15: Top architects and academicians will participate in a three-day IAPEX 2005 conference being held under the theme “Architecture: regional identities in a global environment” at the Karachi Expo Centre from September 30 to October 2.

IAPEX is an international building products exhibition organized by the Institute of Architects Pakistan to show the best and latest products and technology in the construction industry, manufactured both locally and internationally. A similar conference and exhibition was organized in 2004.

Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad is expected to inaugurate the three-day event on September 30. Papers will be read by top architects and leaders of the construction industry.

Expected participants in the conference and exhibition are Balakrishna V. Doshi, architect, educator and academician for over half-a-century in India, who is well known for his supervision of building in Chandigarh, Punjab, and in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, Suha Ozkan from Turkey, who is secretary-general of the Aga Khan Award for architecture, Sumet Jamsai from Thailand, Rasem Badran from Jordan, Han Tumeretekin from Turkey and Derek Bradford from the US.
