SAHIWAL: A Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) leader has refused to work in the newly-formed Pakpattan District Health Advisory Committee for “the chairperson of the body is not loyal to the PTI and Imran Khan”.

The Primary and Secondary Health Care Department notified the formation of the body on July 1. The body is headed by Rana Mazhar Sohail with Dr Shahid Iqbal, Ihsanul Haq, Muhammad Tariq Shaikh, Safdar Hussain Bhatti, Ghulam Hyder and Ghulam Sabir members.

Committee head Mazhar has served as chairman of the Arifwala Municipal Committee.

Committee member Sheikh Tariq sent his resignation to the local media and the party district chapter, questioning the body head’s credentials. He said he was the founder member of the PTI in Arifwala and requested the PTI district body and MPA Naeem Ibrahim to accept his resignation. A health department officer said the advisory committee’s role was to make policy decisions.
