SHIKARPUR, Sept 14: Eight candidates have submitted nomination forms for Shikarpur district nazim, and 23 for four taluka nazim seats. Those who filed papers for the nazim were Amir Ali Jatoi, MPA Abid Hussain Khan Jatoi, Lal Hussain Khan Jatoi, MNA Dr Mohammad Ibrahim Jatoi, Mohammad Sheharyar Mahar and former District Nazim Mohammad Arif Mahar.

For taluka nazims, Allahdino Khan alias Babal Khan Bhayo, Agha Abdul Qadeer Pathan, Haji Dhani Bux Memon, Shamsuddin Khan Pathan, Zafar Ali Sheikh, Ali Akbar Soomro, Aqeel Abbas Soomro, Mohammad Daim Sheikh and Mushtaq Ahmed Sheikh have filed their papers.

Besides, 40 candidates registered for 23 reserved seats of councillors including 17 women seats, three peasant/worker seats and three seats of minorities.

Overall 52 nominations were filed for 23 reserved seats in all four talukas. One reserved seat each for peasant/worker and minority was declared unopposed in Lakhi Ghulam Shah taluka.

Four candidates who registered for Garhi Yasin taluka nazim were Amir Ali Khan Kamario, Agha Rafiuddin Khan, Agha Imran Khan and Najaf Ali Khan Kamario.

Whereas, four candidates including Amanullah Khan, Amir Ali Khan Jatoi, Lal Hussain Khan Jatoi and Mehdi Hassan Khan Jatoi have enrolled for Khanpur taluka nazim.

Sikandar Ali Shah, Abdul Qayoom Mughal and Mohammad Imran Mahar have submitted their documents for Lakhi Ghulam Shah taluka nazim.
