PESHAWAR, Sept 13: Immigration authorities have deported a South African woman who landed here with a forged visa on her passport, officials said on Tuesday. The woman was sent back soon after her arrival at the Peshawar international airport. She is the second South African woman to be deported over the past two weeks.

Inamullah Khan Gandapur, the assistant director of immigration, said the deported woman, Phillippina Maria Charlottee, had arrived here on an Emirates flight from Dubai.

He said that immigration staff stopped the woman on suspicion that she had a forged visa with sticker No ZE-304729. After brief interrogation at the terminal and scrutiny, she was sent back by the same flight.

On Aug 30, immigration officials deported another South African woman for travelling on a fake visa. She had travelled by the same airline.

Meanwhile, immigration officials arrested a tribesman at the airport on charges of possessing a forged passport on Tuesday.
