Niwanis’ new formula for Bhakkar

Published September 14, 2005

SARGODHA, Sept 13: To accomodate its allies, the Niwani group which enjoys the official support has decided to split Bhakkar’s tehsil nazim offices. Each of the tehsils, save one, will have two candidates.

The Niwani group has also fielded its candidates for the district nazim slot whereas the opponent Dhandla-Shahani alliance is yet to own any candidate either for district or tehsils.

Hameed Akbar Niawani has once again been fielded for the coveted slot of the district nazim. Except for Kallur Kot tehsil, the Niwani group has decided to field nazim candidates for two years.

Former tehsil nazim Abdul Jabbar Abbasi will be in the run again for Kallur Kot with the Niwani support.

For Darya Khan, Ghulam Raza Kuhawar, former tehsil nazim, has been given the chance for the second term but for two years and for the next two years the candidate will be Ghulam Murtaza Shah.

For Mankera, Asghar Iqbal has been fielded for first two years while for next two years any nominee of the Magsi tribe will be awarded this honour.

For Bhakkar, Amjad Kuhawar has been nominated for the first two years and Sajjad Husain Baloch for the rest.

It is astonishing for the political circles that the Niwanis have nominated two candidates and divided their tenure into two equal terms.

In case the first nazim refuses to resign, there will be problem for the group and its allies.
