KHAIRPUR, Sept 13: Candidates of the Khairpur Dost Panel for district and taluka nazims submitted their nomination papers to returning officers on Tuesday. KDP candidate for district nazim Niaz Ali Shah Jilani reached returning officer’s office in a caravan from Ranipur and submitted nomination papers.

Nazim candidate for Khairpur taluka, Tahir Imtiaz Phulpoto, Zaheer Ghumro for Kingri, Moharram Shah for Sobhodero, Attaullah Phul for Thari Mirwah, Sirkar Hussain Shah for Gambat, Akhtar Rajpar for Faiz Ganj, Bux Ali Aradeen for Nara and Rauf Chandio for Kotdiji taluka filed nomination papers before returning officer concerned.

PPP: The PPP district board has changed its decision and nominated Nafisa Shah as Awam Dost Panel candidate for district nazim Khairpur.

Nafisa Shah reached the RO office in a procession on Tuesday and filed her nomination papers for the slot.

ADP candidates for taluka nazims including Amjad Shah Jilani for Khairpur taluka, Munawar Wassan for Kotdiji, Mumtaz Sehto for Sobhodero, Shahid Hisbani for Faiz Ganj, Mashooq Ali Shah Jilani for Thari Mirwah, Aftab Shah Rashdi for Kingri, Bashir Farooqui for Gambat and Juman Leghari for Nara taluka filed nomination papers before returning officers concerned.

Meanwhile, some armed men attacked house of former PPP-backed nazim UC Mehar Ali, Adiyal Phulpoto, on Monday night in Phul Wahan village.

PPP workers and villagers took out a procession on Tuesday in protest against police and criminals.

Former District Nazim Nafisa Shah joined the procession.

The protesters marched on the main roads of the town and condemned harassment of PPP activists.
