RAWALPINDI: The Government have asked film producers to observe the censorship rules properly and while submitting application forms to their respective boards give accurate and correct footage of prints.

An official handout issued here yesterday [June 17] said: “It has been observed that while applying for certification of films produced in Pakistan application forms are not carefully filled in as required under the Censorship of Films Rules 1963. While filling in these forms the applicants sometimes give incorrect and inaccurate footage of prints in the censor application.

“In this connection attention of the applicants of locally produced films is drawn to rule 12(3) of the Censorship of Films Rules, 1963, under which not only the censor application in respect of a film is liable to be rejected on the ground of incorrect and false statement, but even the applicant can be debarred from filing any application for a specified period.

“The applicants are also required under the Censorship of Films Rules, 1963, to deposit the print of their films with the Central Board of Film Censors at least 54 hours before the date and time of its examination. In case of failure to do so the examination fee deposited of the same can be forfeited under Rule 13(3) of the Censorship of Films Rules, 1963.” — Agency
