SHANGLA: Minister for labour and culture Shaukat Yousafzai has claimed that four mega road projects for Shangla have been approved, which will help boost tourism sector in the district after completion.

The minister was addressing the inaugural ceremony of a newly-upgraded rural health centre at Larai in Kana tehsil the other day. PTI district president Waqar Ahmed was also present.

The minister said the government had approved funds for the road projects, which would be constructed to the tourist spots, including Ajmeer-Bruj Banda, Shahpur-Kapar Banda, Yakhtangay-Malam Jaba and Bisham Qala.

Mr Yousafzai said four other roads and three bridges had also been approved by the Asian Development Bank for Shangla.

“In the upcoming ADP, Rs350 million have been allocated for the tehsil headquarters hospital, Bisham, as part of the reforms in the health sector. He said Rs520 million had been allocated for reconstruction of schools. He said funds had also been provided for construction of colleges in Shahpur and Pandyar areas of Bisham.

“I intend to install a chairlift at Bahadar Sar tourist place in Lilonai,” he said.

ACCIDENT: A young boy was killed and three others injured when two motorcycles collided in Puran area the other day.

The victim was named Akhter Zada, while the injured were Sharif Zada, Hukam Zada and Abdul Hadi.

The deceased hailed from Langbar area of Chakesar. The injured were taken to THQ hospital Puran.
