TIP woes

Published June 11, 2020

CONGRATULATIONS to Pakistan Steel Mills, for it is now in the spotlight, and has great chances of becoming profitable. But what about another vital industry — Telephone Industry of Pakistan (TIP)?

It is located in Haripur, home to the family of Omar Ayub Khan, the current energy minister.

The factory is not working, production has been halted, but the colony of the factory is lively as if factory is having great profits.

Those concerned are curious and what and want to know the status of this factory too. While Islamabad and Sindh are having a tussle over the ownership of Pakistan Steel Mills, the vast and valuable lands of TIP are being encroached upon.

The government, especially Omar Ayub Khan, should look into these issues to make TIP profitable again.
