KARAK: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf MNA Shahid Khan Khattak inaugurated a cricket academy in Banda Daud Shah tehsil here on Wednesday.

Addressing an Eid Milan party at Teri Chowk here, he claimed that several mega projects were in the pipeline for the oil- and gas-producing tehsil, but the work was being delayed due to spread of Covid-19 pandemic.

The lawmaker said that funds would soon be released for Banda-Karak road project. He said that work on Banda-Gurguri road would also be started without any delay.

Mr Khattak claimed that the PTI government was serious about utilisation of the oil and gas royalty funds on the development of Karak, but there was a delay in launch of the projects because of the spread of coronavirus.

On this occasion, PTI district president Azmat Khattak assured the gathering that all the election promises would be fulfilled by the PTI government. He alleged that JUI-F MPAs Malik Zafar Azam and Mian Nisar Gul Kakakhel were creating hurdles to the development of the district.

He claimed that the district was already lagging behind in the race of development due to differences of the elected representatives in the past and asked the lawmakers to bury their differences in the larger interest of the district to put it on the path of development. He claimed that the party was united under the district organisation.
