KARACHI: Three teenage boys were among four persons who died in different incidents in the metropolis on Wednesday, police and rescue services said.

A 16-year-old bike-rider was crushed to death by a trailer truck on ICI Bridge. Two persons were riding the bike when it slipped and both fell on the road. They were run over by the heavy vehicle, said an Edhi Foundation spokesperson. As a result, the teenager was killed while the other person, Abdullah, was injured. The dead teenager, whose identity could not be ascertained immediately, and the wounded were taken to the Dr Ruth Pfau Civil Hospital Karachi.

In another accident, a bike-rider, Mehboob Alam, 45, was killed when he slipped and fell off it and hit a road barrier near the police headquarters in Garden.

Mohammed Qamar, 14, was killed when a train hit him at Cantonment Station near platform-3 while he was crossing the track.

Meanwhile a picnic party at Hub Dam turned into tragedy when a teenage boy drowned there. The Edhi Foundation spokesperson said that some youths of Lyari had reportedly gone for picnic to the Hub Dam. They were swimming in the water reservoir when 14-year-old Imran Ibrahim drowned. His body was recovered by Edhi divers. The deceased was a resident of Ahmed Shah Bukhari Road in Lyari.
