ABBOTTABAD/MANSEHRA/KHAR: The police will deploy over 6,000 personnel in all eight districts of Hazara division during Eid days to maintain law and order situation and also ensure security of the CPEC projects and foreign nationals working there, according to spokesman for Hazara police.

Besides, the police authorities have also finalised plans for security on Chand Raat and Eidul Fitr in various districts, including Mansehra and Khar, directing the officials to ensure that people follow SOPs to tackle coronavirus pandemic, check firing in the air and maintain law and order situation.

In Abbottabad, Hazara police DIG Qazi Jamilur Rehman reviewed the security plan of Hazara division on Friday in a meeting with all the district police officers. He directed them to increase patrolling and join hands with the health department to control coronavirus pandemic.

Traffic wardens, elite force personnel, ex-servicemen and ladies police will also be performing duties at the entry and exit points of every district and sensitive installations.

Over 6,000 personnel deployed across Hazara division

The DPOs would monitor the whole situation in their respective districts.

They have been asked to increase patrolling in the city bazaars, especially during peak hours, to ensure implementations of SOPs for checking spread of coronavirus.

Excessive use of powers especially against transporters will be regarded as misconduct and action will be taken against the police staff found guilty while the closing time of shops and markets would be strictly implemented.

Besides, the police have been asked to fully implement ban on entry and visit of tourists to various areas of the division.

In Mansehra, the police would deploy over 800 personnel to check celebratory firing on Chand Raat.

Talking to mediapersons, district police officer Sadiq Baloch said he had asked the station house officers across the district to take strict action against those indulging in firing in the air on Chand Raat.

He said traffic wardens would be deployed across the district to control traffic.

The DPO claimed that the police would fully enforce the standard operating procedures to check the spread of coronavirus.

In Khar, the authorities on Friday planned security measures for markets, mosques and other public places during Eid days.

The security plan for Bajaur tribal district was approved during a meeting of senior officials of the district administration, police and security forces with deputy commissioner Mohammad Fayyaz Khan in the chair.

DPO Shahab Ali Shah, assistant commissioners Khar and Nawagai and commander 171 FC wing attended the meeting.

Senior officials told the meeting that strict security arrangements were planned for Eid days to thwart any unpleasant incident. It was decided that additional police personnel would be deployed in all bazaars and trade centres to maintain peaceful environment during Eid days.

The meeting banned firing in the air and sale of toy guns and firecracker in the district.

The meeting ordered strict security of mosques and Eidgahs during Eid.

In Kohat, district police officer Mansoor Aman cancelled all leaves of the police so as to implement security plan for Chand Raat and Eid.

In a statement, he said that over 1,500 policemen had been deployed at bazaars, markets, sensitive places, mosques and Eidgahs.

He said that 43 barricades had been established at the entry points of the district where checking of vehicles and people would be carried out.
