Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) Senator Mohammad Usman Khan Kakar has said that conspiracies against the 18th Amendment have been "going on for a long time".

The comments come a few days after Information Minister Shibli Faraz termed the amendment a "hurdle" in preparing a uniform policy to fight the coronavirus across the country as after the amendment the federal government’s role in various spheres had been limited to issuing policy guidelines.

He claimed that the government was "unhappy that people were being empowered" as the 18th Amendment gave the provinces equal rights on some subjects.
