LAHORE, Sept 6: Justice Fazal-e-Miran Chauhan of Lahore High Court, Multan Bench has restored M Mueen Khanzada as secretary, Bahawalpur Cricket Association (BCA) till further orders.

The learned judge issued the order after Mueen in a petition appealed that he was suspended by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) without giving an opportunity to clear his position.

The court had ordered for parawise comments and report from the PCB chairman Shaharyar M Khan and senior general manager Zakir Khan till Sept 5. But the PCB did not submit the parawise comments.

“Respondents No.1 (Shaharyar) and 2 (Zakir) have not filed report and parawise comments. Even otherwise learned counsel appearing on their behalf had failed to reply the query of the court.

“To come up on 26.9.2005. Notice for 26.9.2005. Till then operation of the impugned letters/orders is suspended,” the court ordered.

Meanwhile, Athar Rehman Khan, the lawyer of the petitioner, has written a letter to Zakir Khan saying “It is further to inform you that Farasat Nawaz Khan, who was handed over a cheque of Rs 30,000 by the PCB has not deposited the cheque in the account of the DCA Muzaffargarh.

“You are therefore requested to comply with the order of honourable High Court, Multan Bench, dated 5-9-05 and to issue necessary directions to ensure that the team is selected by acting president DCA Muzaffargarh to play matches from Sept 8 to 17 at Bahawalpur, Rajanpur and Rahimyar Khan.

“This is to be noted that any violation of the orders of honourable high court would amount to contempt of court,” the letter stated.
