Sonia seeks more time for evidence

FAISALABAD, Sept 6: The two-member investigation team constituted by Chief Minister Prevaiz Elahi could not complete its proceedings owing to Sonia Naz’s request for grant of further time to produce some witnesses in support of her allegations.

Sources told Dawn on Tuesday that she had once again contacted the inquiry team and informed it that she was looking for some witnesses who had gone underground for fear of implication by the police.

Ms Naz, sources said, had sought another two days to produce vital witnesses before the inquiry committee.

Meanwhile, sources close to the inquiry committee said SI Fayyaz Eshan Khan could not be traced. The committee is likely to submit its formal report by Thursday (tomorrow).
