ISLAMABAD, Sept 6: The autopsy report of the British mountaineer, who died at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) Skardu on September 2, suggested that he might have died from gastric ulcer, sources told Dawn.

However, the final report will be released after receiving chemical and histopathology reports. Samples of heart, liver, spleen, brain, kidneys, lungs and pancreas of the deceased have been sent to the chemical examiner, Lahore, and histopathology laboratory, Pims, to ascertain if the British mountaineer had been poisoned.

The autopsy report said some marks of wounds had been found on the deceased’s chest but these were not fatal.

“There is no sign of cardiac arrest. The deceased’s heart is large in size but healthy,” the report said.

The autopsy of Adam Quarry was conducted at the request of the British High Commission at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences on Tuesday.
