Powerlifters for England

LAHORE, Sept 5: A three-member Pakistan squad will leave for England on Tuesday to take part in the Commonwealth powerlifting championship to be held in Northumberland from Sept 9 to 11. Adeel Rana (67.5kg class) and Imran Khalid (100 kg class) of Wapda with Hafiz Imran Butt, as coach also of Wapda are included in the squad.

The third Pakistani player London-based Akram Azhar will join the team in Northumberland.

All countries affiliated with the Commonwealth Powerlifting Federation are participating in this championship.

The Pakistan Powerlifting Federation (PWF) secretary Muhammad Rashed Malik said that “The team was in good shape and in high morale and Inshallah they would earn medals for the country.”
