Protocol officer summoned

LAHORE, Sept 5: The Lahore High Court on Monday summoned Jameel Tahir, the protocol officer of the chief minister, to explain his conduct in a property dispute. The court called the officer on Sept 7 in the proceeding of a writ petition moved by Humayun Luqman contending that the officer was misusing his office to intimidate him in a property dispute with a person known to be the officer’s friend.

SHO SUMMONED: The same court summoned on Sept 7 the SHO of a police station in Okara in a writ petition through which Azra Perveen stated that the police were harassing her for marrying Abdul Qayyum on her free will.

She submitted that her parents were opposed to her marriage with Qayyum and piled pressure on her to dissolve the marriage. She submitted that the police were in league with her parents in intimidating her.
