HYDERABAD, Sept 5: The vice-chancellor of Sindh University, Mr Mazhar-ul-Haq Siddiqi, has distributed the bachelor of computer and information technology degrees among 69 students on completion of their training at the Institute of Modern Sciences and Arts, Hyderabad. The award distribution ceremony was held at the IMSA Hall, Gul Centre on Sunday.

University of Sindh Registrar Dr Pervez Pathan, Dr Saeed Soomro, Principal of the IMSA, Dr Zahoor Hussain Shah, controller of examinations, deans, professors and students attended the ceremony.

Speaking on the occasion, the vice chancellor congratulated the IMSA on offering courses like BCIT, BBA and MBA by following the course structure of Sindh University. Now students failing to get admission to the university may try their luck at the Institute of Modern Sciences and Arts, he said.

Chairman of the IMSA Shafiq Hyder Musavi said that more than 400 students were awarded degrees of MCIT, MBA, BCIT and BBA at the convocation held in January 2005.

Azhar Rind, the director of admissions at the IMSA said that the admission process for MBA, MCIT, BBA and BCIT was going on at the institute.

APPEAL: The chairman of the Sindhi Language Authority, N. D. Jatoi, has appealed to all organizations, educationists, writers and intellectuals of Sindh to mention those places, including villages, towns, cities, roads, railway stations and milestones, where Sindhi language was written incorrectly.

In a statement issued here on Monday, he said, it was necessary to ensure that all names of prominent places should be written in correct Sindhi.

He urged the highway department and Pakistan railways to cooperate with the Sindhi Language Authority in this regard.
