KARACHI: Lawyers protest over killing

KARACHI, Sept 5: The Karachi Bar Association on Monday stayed away from court proceedings to protest over killing of fellow advocate and member Mirza Qaiser Sohail Hayat. The Karachi Bar Association (KBA) summoned an emergency meeting which was attended by KBA members.

The meeting, presided over by President Mehmood-ul-Hasan, expressed grief and sorrow over the killing and called for increased security in areas having lawyers chamber.

The meeting decided that if police fail to arrest the killers, lawyers would boycott court proceedins on Thursday, Sept 8.—APP
