Minor boy, girl shot at, injured

KASUR, Jan 17: A minor boy and a girl were shot at and injured seriously early Thursday morning on resistance in a dacoity bid at Kalarakabad village, Raiwind.

Three unidentified dacoits entered Tahir Masih’s house and made the inmates hostage at pistol point. The intruders opened fire on them for putting up resistance. As a result, Nanhi (12) and Tito (8) sustained serious bullet wounds. The outlaws however took away two gold rings.

Police are looking into the matter.

GAMBLERS HELD: A-Division police caught red-handed 16 gamblers at Kot Mir Baaz Khan here on Thursday.

Acting on a tip-off, police conducted a raid on the house of Booti Ansari and arrested 16 gamblers, including Muhammad Irfan and Abdul Rashid. Police also took into custody Rs59,000 stake money.
