Water supply suspended for a week

MIRPURKHAS, Jan 17: Around 500,000 people of Mirpurkhas have been deprived of drinking water due to the negligence of the authorities concerned.

The Public Health Engineering Department failed to store sufficient water in the water reservoirs before the closure of the canals for annual desilting.

The water supply to the city has remained suspended for a week causing great hardships to the people.

The citizens are having hand pumps installed so that they are able to get potable water.

SUICIDE: A woman, Sato (19), committed suicide on Thursday at the Karam Ali Shar village over a domestic matter.
