LAHORE: PML-Q President Chaudhry Shujaat Husain says the government and the opposition should join hands in fight against Covid-19.

“There is no time for politics. The government and the opposition should join hands against the deadly virus,” he said while reviewing the distribution of ration, sanitisers and face masks among the people by the party here on Saturday.

Punjab Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, MNA Moonis Elahi, former senator Kamil Ali Agha and Chaudhry Salim Baryaar were also present in the meeting.

Mr Shujaat urged the overseas Pakistanis to participate in this noble work and help their countrymen. He said assistance to the coronavirus-hit families should be continued as entire world was a victim of this pandemic.

He lamented that the number of Covid-19 patients was also increasing and measures should be taken to stop it.

Pervaiz Elahi appreciated the efforts of the party leaders in distribution of ration and safety kits for protection against coronavirus in Gujrat, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Sialkot, Bahawalpur and Gujranwala districts.

He said the PML-Q would not leave the people alone in this difficult time.
