LRC silver jubilee on Sunday

Published September 3, 2005

LAHORE, Sept 2: The Lahore Race Club (LRC) will celebrate silver jubilee of its shifting to the Kot Lakhpat Racecourse with the staging of the LRC Silver Jubilee Cup on Sunday. The LRC had relocated to the new site from its Gulberg Road track and the first race at the Kot Lakhpat Racecourse was held on Sept 6, 1981.

During the last twenty five years, the Lahore Racecourse has now grown into a most modern and beautiful racing facility, if not the finest but one among the finest in the racing world having even the well-equipped flood-lighting arrangement for night-racing.

This makes it the only Racecourse in Asia with night-racing arrangements.—A.G.
