KARACHI, Sept 2: The Khokhrapar-Monabao railway link is likely to be ready by the end of this year as the Pakistan Railway has completed conversion of 35 kilometres of meter gauge track to broad gauge.

PR Chairman Shakil Durrani, during his visit to the site of track conversion on Friday, was given a briefing in this regard by Divisional Superintendent Karachi Junaid Qureshi and Project Director Ghulam Rasool Memon.

He was told that broadening of the track is necessary to facilitate movement of both passenger and freight trains.

He was informed that six major bridges were included in the project of broadening the track and the material required to convert another 45 kilometres of the track had been transported to the site.
