PESHAWAR, Jan 17: The tribal elders, former MNAs and Senators from the Federally Administered Tribal Area have vowed that they would not allow anybody to replace the system being run under the Frontier Crimes Regulation Act.

Speaking at a joint news conference at the Peshawar Press Club on Thursday, former MNAs Malik Haji Aslam Khan, Malik Haji Baz Gul, ex-senator Malik Haji Noor Sher Khan and others Malik Haji Mohammad Zaman, Malik Haji Mir Alam, Malik Haji Amanullah, Malik Nasarullah Khan, Malik Haji Feroz Khan, Malik Haji Nauroz Gul and Malik Haji Mohammad Ayub said that the present FCR system was based on the tribal customs and traditions and it was dear to them than any other political system.

They said they would oppose the merger of tribal belt with the regular areas being run by the provincial government.
