BAHAWALPUR: The personnel of the Rescue 1122 Emergency Service on Thursday saved two labourers from being buried alive under a huge mass of earth, while digging a well at Mubarakpur Janowala village, some 35kms from here.

As per Rescue 1122 officials, two labourers – Imran (25) and Ghulam Farid (50) – were digging a well at the village. When they were around 30-feet below the surface, a huge mass of earth from the sides of the well, fell on them.

The locals immediately called the Rescue 1122 personnel who arriving on the spot removed the earth with the help of locals, rescued the labourers and immediately shifted them to the Ahmedpur East Tehsil Headquarters Hospital, Rescuer Abdul Rahim said.

He added that both labourers were being provided treatment at the THQ hospital where they were said to be stable.
