HYDERABAD: Robbers’ gang busted

HYDERABAD, Jan 17: Chambar police claimed to have apprehended three members of an inter-district gang of highwaymen on Thursday.

The bandits include Gullo s/o Punhal Mirbahar, Abdul Raheem s/o Hameer Mirbahar, and Aboro s/o Lakhano Mallah.

The police recovered from their possession two pistols, a rifle, rounds, a tape-recorder, a watch, and cash which they looted on Tuesday night from a truck on Bukera Sharif road.

The police claimed that the dacoits were involved in several highway robberies in Mirpurkhas and Hyderabad districts.

ASSURANCE: The DSP, crime branch, Zarar Khan has assured the STA Court here that he would bring PDSP of crime branch from Karachi to satisfy the court on a legal point pertaining to the exclusion of names of Hakim Ali Zardari and Zanwar Ghulam Hyder in the double murder case of Alam Baloch and his gunman Imdad Baloch.

In his written statement, he sought adjournment of the case the other day and the case was fixed for Feb 16.

The court wanted to know that on what ground and evidence the names of former MNA, Hakim Ali Zardari, and Zanwar Ghulam Hyder, had not been included in the charge sheet of the re-investigation report.

In the supplementary charge sheet, the DSP, who was entrusted with the reinvestigation, did not mention Zardari and Zanwar while it included two other accused, Inayat and Nawab Leghari.

The charge sheet has not been accepted so far by the court.
