UNIVERSITIES and educational institutions are closed all around the world to control the fast- spreading Covid-19. In Pakistan too all educational institutes are closed, but the Higher Education Commission (HEC) has recently directed all universities to commence online classes so that students can continue their study.

Unfortunately, nine Sindh universities are unable to implement the HEC direction. Recently, Dawn published a news story ‘Sindh varsities students demand online classes to cover time lost due to lockdown’ (March 28), which shows how keen students are and educationists to have online classes.

I urge the HEC to ensure its directives of starting online classes for BS and MS are implemented by all universities as soon as possible.
