Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider has urged expatriates not to visit the region, noting that the cases reported from Bhimber and Mirpur districts had recent travel history.

In a video message, the AJK premier said: "Wherever you live, act upon the advice of the governments concerned and avoid travel to Pakistan, particularly AJK. I am saying so because the problem we have faced [with regard to Covid-19 transmission] in Mirpur and Bhimber districts was because of those who had a travel history.

“I can understand that you want to visit your families here. But my request is that you should stay back for the welfare and safety of your families. You should not worry about your near and dear ones here; the government and the community at large are minded to take care of them."
