Karachi police have arrested four individuals for establishing a fake welfare organisation and selling forms to people on the pretext of providing them rations.
“Surjani police apprehended four suspects identified as Saddar Ali, Hasan Ali, Hamza and Abdul Jabbar who were involved in defrauding poor people,” according to Senior Superintendent of Police Karachi West Fida Husain Janwari.
He added that they had set up a "fake" Rah-i-Naikee welfare trust and its fake ration forms were being distributed among poor people at Rs50 per household.
The police also seized the forms and list of more than 400 victims of the scam from their custody.
