KARACHI, Aug 29: Hosts Aga Khan University (AKU) suffered a six-wicket defeat at the hands of PPTA in the 5th AKU Sports and Rehabilitation Centre cricket tournament on Sunday.

After being asked to bat first, AKU were bundled out for 101 in the final over of their innings with Imran grabbing four for 18.

PPTA then raced to victory in the 14th over largely due to a belligerent knock of 59 by Kamran Saeed, who blasted seven fours and two sixes.

In another match, played on Saturday, good contributions by Sadiq Yaseen (65), Danish (44 and two for 17) and Usman (three for 14) guided Cougars to 49-run win over Glaxo-Smith Kline (GSK).

PPTA beat AKU by six wickets.

AKU 101 in 24.1 overs (Naeem Madani 28, Kamran Pirwani 27; Imran 4-18, Sibtain Haider 2-16); PPTA 104-4 in 13.4 overs (Kamran Saeed 59, Javed Ahmed 23; Karim Khan 3-24).
