SIALKOT: A young businessman belonging to Daska has been declared a confirmed coronavirus patient after he tested positive.

Officials of the district administration confirmed that 31-year-old Ameer Hamza Cheema was suffering from coronavirus. He had returned home on March 21 from Paris (France) where he had an established business of hotels.

A few days ago Hamza had his coronavirus test from a private laboratory and his reports were positive. He approached Daska health officials and the authorities took him and his family members and friends into custody.

Tests of Hamza were again conducted at the Govt Allama Iqbal Memorial Teaching Hospital, Sialkot and the reports were found positive.

Senior officials of the Sialkot health department said he and his wife had been admitted to the isolation ward of the hospital. The result of test of his wife was awaited, said officials. They said the family had been quarantined at their house in Daska and the street had been sealed.

A team visited Hamza’s mother to inform her about the situation and she assured them of cooperation.

Meanwhile, the district administration has urged the public to follow the health advisory to keep them safe from the coronavirus.
