Pakistan Day celebrated in New York

NEW YORK, Aug 29: Raising slogans of “Pakistan Zindabad” thousands of Pakistanis on Sunday participated in the parade to celebrate country’s Independence Day here as they marched down Madison Avenue which was partially closed down for the occasion.

Mayor of New York City Michael Bloomberg and Lord Nazir Ahmad from Britain and Pakistan’s Consul General in New York, Mohammad Haroon Shaukat were among the Grand Marshals of the parade which began around noon with about 16 floats .
