LAKKI MARWAT, Aug 28: Salim Saifullah Khan, central leader of the Pakistan Muslim League has said that the alliance of Muttahida and Khushaal Pakistan groups will form district and tehsil governments in Lakki Marwat.
Addressing a press conference at his residence in Ghaznikhel here on Sunday, he said the alliance had won a majority of seats of nazims and naib nazims in the second phase of local government elections in the district.
Ex-MNA Haji Ghulam Mohiuddin and ex-town nazim Lakki Haji Ghulam Ali Khan were present on the occasion.
“It is a sign of the masses’ confidence in our policies and the performance of the previous district government headed by Humayun Saifullah Khan,” said the PML leader, adding that 70 per cent candidates of the alliance were elected to union councils.
He said their party would hold talks with the leadership of the JUI-F for fielding a joint candidate from the PML for the slot of district nazim.
“We will nominate Humayun Saifullah Khan for the post as he had served the office well in the previous tenure,” he said.
He added that the independent panels of nazims and naib nazims had also assured of their support for PML candidates for district and tehsil nazims.
