SWABI: Pakistan paceman Junaid Khan has urged people to strictly adopt precautionary measures against coronavirus which is rapidly spreading in the country despite the unabated efforts of the government.

In a video message recorded in Pashto language on Sunday, he asked his fellow countrymen to “regularly wash your hands with soap, avoid hand shaking and keep your body clean”.

“The area in which you live should be clean, safe and pollution free,” added Junaid, who belongs to Mattra village (Tehsil Razaar) of district Swabi.

Junaid, who was part of Multan Sultans team in Pakistan Super League (PSL), said people who are coming from the virus-affected countries should be isolated and the local people must avoid meeting them till they’re cleared by the doctors.

In Swabi, majority of the people are farmers and due to their weak financial position they could not meet the urgent requirements to adopt result-oriented precautionary measures against the deadly disease.

Junaid appealed to Asad Qaisar speaker of national assembly, senators belonging to district Swabi and other elected representatives to arrange sanitizers, masks and soaps for them and provide adequate health facilities to people across the district.
