Poll tribunals appointed

ISLAMABAD, Aug 27: Acting Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Justice Abdul Hameed Dogar has appointed 213 election tribunals in the four provinces to dispose of petitions regarding complaints about the local government elections 2005. The tribunals will receive, hear and dispose of petitions in union councils of the districts. The CEC has appointed 108 tribunals in Punjab, 53 in Sindh, 24 in the NWFP and 20 in Balochistan in exercise of powers under the Local Government Elections Order 2000.
