The very first case of coronavirus, which originated from China's Hubei province, can be traced as far back as November 17, 2019, according to the South China Morning Post.
Citing government data, the publication says that a 55 year-old from Hubei could have been the first person to have contracted COVID-19.
From that date onwards, one to five new cases were reported each day. By December 15, 2019, the total number of infections stood at 27 and by December 20, 2019, the total number of confirmed cases had reached 60.
