Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan Alyani responded to criticism on the handling of pilgrims arriving at Taftan.

Responding to a tweet by journalist Khurram Husain, who had criticised the handling of pilgrims in Taftan, which he said "turned out to be the single largest point of entry into Pakistan for the virus", the Balochistan CM said the Taftan camps "restricted and limited people".

Jam Kamal questioned whether camps at Taftan had caused the problem or stopped the virus from reaching millions.

He wondered what would have happened if people had been "set loose" when none of the provinces had any facilities for quarantine.
