ISLAMABAD, Aug 27: Chief Election Commissioner Justice Abdul Hameed Dogar has appointed 28 tribunals in Balochistan to dispose of election petitions arising out of the first two phases of local government elections.

The tribunals have been appointed to receive, try and dispose of election petitions related to local level elections in union councils of the province.

The CEC has appointed the tribunals in exercise of powers under the Local Government Elections Order, 2000 (No. 8 of 2000), section 150(2) of the Balochistan Local Government Ordinance, 2001, read with rule 69 of the Balochistan Local Government (Conduct of Elections) Rules 2004 and all other powers enabling him in this behalf.

The CEC has appointed 14 election tribunals for the first and second phase.

TRIBUNALS FOR FIRST PHASE: Additional district & sessions judge-IV, Quetta, has been appointed election tribunal for all union councils of Pishin district and district & sessions judge, Kharan, for all union councils of Nushki district.

Additional district & sessions judge, Musa Khel at Loralai, has been appointed election tribunal for all union councils of Killa Saifullah district and district & sessions judge, Musa Khel at Loralai for all union councils of Barkhan district.

District and sessions judge, Nasirabad, has been appointed election tribunal for all union councils of Sibi district and senior civil judge-I, Quetta, for all union councils of Ziarat district.

District & sessions judge, Sibi, has been appointed election tribunal for all union councils of Nasirabad district and additional district & sessions judge, Nasirabad, for all union councils of Jaffarabad district.

Senior civil judge, Sibbi, has been appointed election tribunal for all union councils of Bolan district and additional district & sessions judge-II, Quetta, for all union councils of Mastung district.

District & sessions judge, Lasbela at Hub, has been appointed election tribunal for all union councils of Khuzdar district and district & sessions judge, Lasbela at Hub, for all union councils of Awaran district.

District & sessions judge, Nushki, has been appointed election tribunal for all union councils of Kharan district and additional district & sessions judge, Kech, for all union councils of Gwadar district.

SECOND PHASE: District & sessions judge (ad-hoc), Quetta, has been appointed election tribunal for all union councils of Quetta district and senior civil judge-II, Quetta, for all union councils of Killa Abdullah district.

Senior civil judge-II, Quetta, has been appointed election tribunal for all union councils of Killa Abdullah district and district & sessions judge, Musa Khel at Loralai, for all union councils of Zhob district.

District & sessions judge, Zhob, has been appointed election tribunal for all union councils of Loralai district and additional district & sessions judge, Barkhan at Loralai, for all union councils of Musa Khel district.

Additional district & sessions judge, Dera Allah Yar, has been appointed election tribunal for all union councils of Jhal Magsi district and senior civil judge, Dera Allah Yar, district Jaffarafbad, for all union councils of Dera Bugti district.

Additional district & sessions judge-II, Sibi, has been appointed election tribunal for all union councils of Washuk district and district & sessions judge, Kharan, for all union councils of Kalat district.

District & sessions judge, Mastung, has been appointed election tribunal for all union councils of Lasbela district and district & sessions judge, Khuzdar, for all union councils of Lasbela district.

Additional district & sessions judge, Punjgur, has been appointed election tribunal for all union councils of Kech district and senior civil judge, Gawadar, for all union councils of Panjgur district. —APP
