Foreign stars for women squash

ISLAMABAD, Aug 26: Players from five countries as well as hosts Pakistan will compete in the maiden Wispa-POF women’s squash tournament commencing at Jahangir Khan Squash Complex, Wah Cantt., on Sunday.

After the two-day qualifying round of this first-ever all-women squash tournament in Pakistan, the main round will commence from Tuesday with semifinals scheduled for Sept 1 and the final for Sept 2.

Besides Pakistan, the entries have come from South Korea, Denmark, Malaysia, England and India.

Sara Awan of Pakistan has been given the wild card entry in the main round while eight players from the host country will figure in the qualifying round.—APP
