SLH offers Rs2.63m cash prizes

KARACHI, Aug 26: An amount of Rs 2.63 million will be offered in the inaugural Super Hockey League (SHL) to be played at Hockey Club of Pakistan Stadium from Sept 8 to 18, secretary Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) Musarratullah Khan announced on Friday.

Speaking at a news conference he said seven hockey teams including six players from India are taking part in the 11-day competition.

An amount of rupees one million will be presented to winning team while the runners-up will get Rs 500,000. Third, fourth, fifth and sixth place finishers will get Rs 300,000, Rs 200,000, Rs 150,000 and Rs 100,000.

The best player of the tournament will receive Rs 100,000, best goal-keeper will get Rs 50,000 while Rs 10,000 will be awarded to the best player in each match.
