The Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) has dispelled rumours that a coronavirus case has been reported at the varsity.
Speaking to Dawn.com, LUMS Vice Chancellor Arshad Ahmed confirmed that reports of a coronavirus case at the varsity were not true.
Separately, LUMS Associate Professor of Sociology Nida Kirmani warned people against spreading misinformation.
"Rumours spreading about LUMS & corona. Don’t believe them; don’t spread them. As a general rule, please be careful with how you are engaging with social media particularly during times of global panic. Verify information before sharing."
