PESHAWAR, AUG 24: Manager of Pakistan universities athletics team Bahre Karam said on Wednesday that the participation in the World Universities Games recently held in Izmir, Turkey, provided opportunities to the athletes international exposure and orientation with the latest technology.

Four athletes Mohammad Ali, Asad Iqbal of Peshawar University, Talha Iftikhar of Government College Lahore and Benish Amin of Punjab University participated in different categories.

The former SAF Games veteran said that the participation of Pakistan in the World Universities Games also graced by 147 countries of all continents was in fact a honour for Pakistan, as its 26-strong contingent including players and officials represented the country.

Vice Chancellor Peshawar University, Mumtaz Gul, announced cash awards of Rs. 10,000 for both Ali, Asad and the same amount to Bahre Karam for his efforts in promoting sports.
