TIMERGARA: Jamaat-i-Islami provincial chief Senator Mushtaq Ahmad Khan on Tuesday said the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf had lost right to govern the country due to flawed policies and inflation.

He was speaking at a press conference at Ahya-ul-Uloom Balambat here. JI district emir Izazul Mulk, Eng Yaqub ur Rehman and others were also present.

Mr Ahmad asked Prime Minister Imran Khan to accept his failure and step down to pave way for fresh elections. He said the premier had taken many U-turns and nation could no more trust him.

He said development process had come to a standstill, but the government continued to borrow money with high interest rate.

The JI senator said profitable institutions like Pakistan Steel Mills, PIA and Wapda were running in losses. He said key decisions were taken on IMF dictation leading to unprecedented inflation.

“Mid-term election is the only solution to the country’s problems,” Mr Ahmed said.

He said the JI would mobilise people against the government for its failure to control price hike, corruption and unemployment.

ADULTERATED MILK DISPOSED OF: District director livestock Dr Rahimullah along with additional assistant commissioner Adnan Ali on Tuesday raided different milk shops in Timergara and Balambat markets and checked the quality through a mobile milk quality testing laboratory brought from Swat.

The officials seized the adulterated milk and disposed it of.

Also in the day, deputy commissioner Saadat Hassan chaired a meeting of the health department’s district steering committee at Balambat and discussed status of human resource, availability of medicines, duty roaster of doctors and staff absenteeism.

District health officer Dr Shaukat Ali, Independent Monitoring Unit head Atif Khan and other officials were in attendance.

Mr Hassan asked the management of health units to improve delivery to minimise suffering of ailing humanity.

PARAMEDICS ELECTIONS: The Jamaat-i-Islami-backed Al-Khidmat group of paramedics clinched top positions in the elections for paramedical association of the district headquarters hospital, Timergara. The Muttahida group backed by the PPP, ANP and PTI won top slots at the district level.

Mohammad Rahim of Al-Khidmat group was elected president and Humayun senior vice president, while Mohammad Ibrahim of Muttahida group was elected general secretary for next four years.

Khurshid Iqbal of Muttahida group was elected president and Haroon ur Rashid general secretary for the district paramedical association.

The Al-Khidmat group’s Matiullah was elected senior vice president at the district level.

Over 500 health employees exercised their right to vote in the elections.
