TIMERGARA: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf MPA from Lower Dir, Humayun Khan, on Sunday launched tree plantation drive in Adenzai by planting a sapling on Chakdara-Chitral roadside.

Adenzai tehsil municipal officer Shakil Hayat, sub-divisional forest officer Abdul Wahid and other officials were also present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, the SDFO claimed that so far 500,000 saplings of different species had been planted in Adenzai. The TMO said that the municipality staff was also taking part in the ongoing plantation drive. He said that each staffer had been asked to plant at least five saplings.

The MPA said that the government was firm to make the country clean and green. He said that forests played a vital role in maintaining natural environment. He said plants had a good effect on the human health. He asked the farmers to plant more trees.

The plantation drive would continue till March 15.

Forest community development officer Abid Hussain told this correspondent that plantation under the 10 Billion Tree Tsunami Afforestation Project had been in progress in different parts of Lower Dir.

He said that forest conservator west circle Mohammad Yousaf visited the district the other day and planted a tree at Badalzo Takur site.

The forest conservator also visited the under-construction Koto hydropower project and planted a pine tree to inaugurate the plantation drive.

BODY FOUND: The Haya Serai police here on Sunday found a body in its jurisdiction. The victim was identified as Naseeb Rawan, 33, a resident of Rana Manzai from a letter found in his pocket.

The body was sent to the district headquarters hospital, Timergara, for autopsy and then sent to Swat. A police official said that the local people informed them about presence of the body in a field. The police registered a case and have started investigations.
